Quick answers about adding, removing and splitting GST.
How do I add GST to a price?
Enter the price before tax, choose the applicable GST rate, and select the supply type. The calculator adds GST to show the estimated invoice total.
How is GST removed from an inclusive amount?
The inclusive total is divided by 1 plus the GST rate expressed as a decimal. The remaining difference is the GST portion. For example, at 18%, the taxable value is the total divided by 1.18.
What is the difference between CGST, SGST and IGST?
For a same-state supply, this estimate splits GST equally into CGST and SGST. For an inter-state supply, it shows the full GST amount as IGST. Confirm the correct treatment for your transaction.
Which GST rate should I choose?
Enter the rate applicable to the specific goods or service. GST classification can depend on the item, service and transaction details, so check the relevant official guidance or ask a qualified tax professional if unsure.
